Dr. Rajesh S. Ransing, Ph.D., FICME, is Chairman and Cofounder of p-matrix Ltd, Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Swansea University, and lead for Enterprise Partnerships and Innovation in Modelling, Data and AI at the Zienkiewicz Institute. With 30+ years of experience, he bridges academic research and industrial practice in diagnostics, FMEA, and explainable AI for manufacturing.
Rajesh has pioneered AI-enabled root cause analysis, dynamic FMEAs, and manufacturing data analytics, embedding his methods in global foundries and advanced manufacturing enterprises. He has supervised 15+ PhDs, trained over 200 engineers across the US, Europe, India, and South Africa, and delivered invited lectures at international conferences.
He is a regular presenter at international casting forums, including the World Investment Casting Conferences, World Foundry Congresses, Investment Casting Institute events, and Indian Foundrymen Conferences. He also serves as Secretary of the UK’s Natural Computing Applications Forum (NCAF), having organised many NCAF meetings, and is co-organiser of the International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing (ICSSM) 2024 and 2026.
In recognition of his contributions to AI in manufacturing, the European Investment Casters Federation (EICF) awarded Swansea University membership, enabling him to actively engage with investment casting foundries across Europe.
As a Royal Academy of Engineering Industry Fellow, he led 7Epsilon’s transfer into industry, developing practical frameworks for defect reduction and process improvement. He has published 50+ journal papers, co-authored US/EU patents, and serves as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Numerical Methods for Heat & Fluid Flow.
Through p-matrix Ltd, the Zienkiewicz Institute, and international collaborations, Rajesh continues to advance zero-defect manufacturing with AI-driven diagnostics, deep learning, and digital quality systems.
